Test broadcasts have started on SHBC's first radio channel on St Helena. The FM channel is being carried around the island using 4 transmitters, positioned in Jamestown, High Knoll, Levelwood and Blue Hill. Frequencies are:
High Knoll: 90.5
Blue Hill: 105.3

By midday today (Saturday 22nd December) successful reception has been reported from Jamestown, High Knoll and Levelwood transmitters. Work is in progress at the Blue Hill transmitter.
The official launch of scheduled programming on SHBC radio will not take place until January 2013, however, it is planned to rebroadcast World Service news on the channel from 26 December with local emergency and Public Service Announcements (PSA) as required.
