Christmas pantomime at Prince Andrew School

Christmas 2012 pantomine on St Helena, Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty

Sharon Henry, SHBC

The Ivyletts held their Christmas Pantomime of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ on Saturday 8 December to a delighted audience at the Prince Andrew School sports hall.  Against the backdrop of the court of ‘Plantation Palace’ the classic fairytale of Princess Aurora (Lisa Joshua) was acted out from the terrible ‘Curse of Caraboose’ to the awakening of the beautiful princess with a kiss from her Prince (David Thomson).

Director of the show, Helen Owen and also the dastardly evil witch Carabosse put in a brilliant performance backed up by her two side kicks Mischief (Thomas Hickling) and Mayhem (Raphael Ellick).  The boys arguably stole the show with an acapella rap.  There were many twists and references throughout the play to make it local that amused the audience throughout.  The costumes were sparkly and the cast as a whole produced a glittering and entertaining concert, a lovely way to start the festive season.
