Prince Andrew School receives donation
£1000 worth of books are donated to PAS library.
St Helena PAS book donation

Sherrilee Phillips, SHBC

Prince Andrew School (PAS) has received £1,000 worth of new books for their library.  The generous donation was given to the school by their PTA after a request was made by English teachers Katherine (Kathy) Squires and Helen Wallace.

Anita Constantine, the school librarian said that a new order of books was usually made on an annual basis.  However, due to a budget cut last year a new order was not possible.  Anita is making the best of the new additions to her catalogue.  "This week we are having a theme week called, 'Meet the Undead," said Anita.  "I'm promoting the new books that the PTA sponsored for us.  There are books on display with Vampires and Draculas and things like that.  There are a variety of books not just horrors."  The selection of books was bought from the Amazon website and the collection of titles was chosen by Anita, Kathy and Helen.

Throughout the week there were also planned activities that include poetry writing which will be displayed in the library, St Helena ghost stories read by Vanessa Tissington from a book entitled 'The Road House' and word searches.
